Gallery Project Critique
The main focus of my photo shoot for this project was to show the beauty of the desert. The focal point in my final black and white picture is the cactus. The “spines” on the cactus look like lines shooting up into the sky, which adds depth to the overall picture. The spikes on the cactus also add line to the picture. The sparkles in the sky make it look like the cactus is giving off an aura of sunset. The texture of the cactus, the grooves and spikes, really makes the picture a success. The background of clouds gives the picture an “overcast” look. All of these things add to the cactus to make it look big and beautiful. The cactus shooting up into the sky makes my photograph a good one. If I could change something in my picture, I would probably not make it black and white because the original colors in the picture really add to it. The colors used to be bright pinks, purples, and greens, so you could really see a beautiful sunset above the cactus and it looked majestic. For the next gallery project we have, I will probably spend more time taking pictures of things that go really well with the theme. I felt the pictures that I took for the black and white theme, looked a lot better in their original colors. But overall, I’m still happy with the picture I chose.
